Bubble Bobble also featuring Rainbow Islands brought to you by Acclaim Entertainment is an Action, Compilation, Side View, Arcade, Platform, and Up to Two-Player video game. The game focusses on the Dark Shadow, an entity that is responsible for lots of events occurring in Bubble Bobble.
It allows the player to jump into a chain of ten islands, and experience an adventure. Each of these ten islands provides four rounds to complete to move to the next island in the chain. In each round, the player needs to fight off different enemies and receive numerous rewards.
Throughout the game, the player attempts to release different rainbows that act as weapons, makeshift platforms, and even various item collectors. All of the slinging rainbows can damage numerous enemies. While in the game, the player can jump upon monsters, try to beat them, and even release a damage field above all of them.
The player has to collect several power-ups to increase his speed and even the speed of the rainbows. In case the player takes too long at any level, water starts to rise, and kills him if it rises above his head.
