Unheap

Unheap is a repository containing JavaScript and jQuery plugins that you can download without paying any fees. You can search by using the filter option to view All plugins, or only jQuery, Vanilla. You can also type the name of a plugin in the search bar to get instant results. The best feature is the sidebar which contains many categories that you can click, after which all the plugins in that category will be displayed. The platform was created as an internal team resource in 2010.

The people in charge checked other repositories and found them underwhelming, so they decided to build their own to offer a better browsing experience to the audience and help them stay on top of the latest jQuery plug-ins. The site went public in November 2012 and immediately attracted a lot of attention. A huge effort has been spent on tagging, organizing, categorizing, and thumbnailing plugins to ensure all the stuff is presented in a consistent way.
